Top 10 New Electric Cars Coming in 2023

Written by EVNN Staff

The automotive industry has seen some major changes over the last decade. From hybrids to EVs, the future of cars looks bright. Electric vehicles (EV) are becoming more affordable and widely accessible. According to estimates, EV sales grew to over 2 million units worldwide in 2018. Many may not like it, but electric cars are here to stay, and the industry will continue to actively seek out innovation. Research company Wood Mackenzie projects that the global EV market will reach nearly 45 million unit sales by 2040. This is exactly why some of the biggest names in the industry are betting on electric vehicles to become the next big thing in modern transportation.

So here’s a look at 10 of the most exciting EV models coming to roads in 2023.

Starting off the list is the Audi A6 E-Tron. Its futuristic design is too eye-catching to ignore. The company revealed the concept in 2021 and gave the model a maximum traveling distance of 435 miles for every full charge. Even with only 10 minutes of charging, the car can travel up to 186 miles. The E-Tron supports fast charging of 270 kilowatts and is equipped with a 100-kilowatt-hour battery. A horsepower of over 400, 590 pound-foot of torque, and two motors on its axles give this electric vehicle impressive performance. For $55,000, this car is yours.

At number 9, we have the Mercedes Benz EQG-Class. If you liked the G wagon series, you’ll surely love this. The difference is that this has 22-inch alloy wheels and doesn’t carry a spare tire at the back. You’ll also notice that the car has led lights all over it. The Mercedes Benz EQG is equipped with four motors, a modified rear axle, and a transmission with only two gears. This indicates that the electric vehicle performs equally well on and off the road. The car has yet to be given a price tag but expect it to hit a hundred grand.

Coming in at number 8 is the Ford Explorer EV 2023. According to Ford, EVs will make up the majority of new vehicle sales in 2023. It’s been confirmed that the new Ford Explorer will come standard with a gasoline turbo-four engine and, optionally, a 3.0-liter V6 with 365 horsepower. Ford hasn’t given a model release date since it will release the F-150 lightning truck and Mustang Mach-E crossover, both of which will be released before the Ford Explorer electric.

The Cadillac Celestic takes the number 7 spot on this list. In recent years, Cadillac has been on a decline. But the company expects to get back on its feet with this EV. The Celestic is an all-wheel sedan and has a driving range of 400 miles. The materials used to come up with the interior are also hand-made. Inside, you’ll see a 33-inch display and fancy decors. The Celestic should hit the market in late 2023.

At number 6 is the Jeep Wrangler EV Magneto. This is the car for you if you’re looking for a powerful EV that can smoothly drive off-road. Jeep has a reputation for producing vehicles that are relatively strong and will surely make an impact in the EV market. With over 600 horsepower, the Magneto 2.0 is an improved version of the original and is intended to directly challenge the Tesla Model S Platinum Sedan. Unlike most electric vehicles, the Magneto 2.0 will include a six-speed transmission. For the future, Jeep intends to increase its investment in the production of electric vehicles, with Magneto 2.0 leading the process of testing of the company’s move to electric vehicles and other endeavors in technology.

Number 5 belongs to the Kia EV9. There is nothing modern about the EV9’s design, as Kia clearly wanted to look as futuristic as possible. You’ll definitely love the car’s power output of 570 horsepower and its driving range of 300 miles. Kia went with the onboard charging system with a capacity of 350 kilowatts, allowing the vehicle to be fully charged in thirty minutes and to preserve power for a significantly longer period. Many are looking forward to the car’s infotainment system, which includes a more futuristic dashboard with a 27-inch display, an upgrade from the interior features in the EV6.

Number 4. We have the Aston Martin Lagonda All-Terrain. Rumor says that this car might just get included in the product-placement roster of the upcoming James Bond movie once it goes into production. The concept was revealed in 2019, and very little is known about the model except for the fact that it will have a driving range of more than 300 miles per charge. In addition, its interior pays homage to a fighter jet that has a capacity of four people with a combination of leather and wood. The incredible technology of electromagnets was also implemented into the electric vehicle, wherein the key would levitate between the front seats when properly positioned. Aston Martin hasn’t come out with a price for this model.

The Canoo Pickup Truck takes the third spot on this list. Reports say that this EV will be an all-wheel or rear-wheel drive. Over 600 horsepower will be generated by dual motor configurations. In addition to that, the vehicle will have 550 pound-feet of torque. There will also be rear motor configurations available for the pickup truck, and they will have specifications of 300 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. However, with an 80-kilowatt-hour battery, its driving range of 200 miles is pretty low compared to other electric trucks. The Canoo Pickup has an anticipated payload capacity of 1800 pounds for its all-wheel drive model.

Making its entry at number 2 is the BMW i7. Of all the electric cars BMW produced, the i7 might be the best overall. According to BMW, the vehicle can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just four seconds. The vehicle has a range of 300 miles on a single charge, but it is still an improvement from the model previously released. The i7’s external dimensions are noticeably larger, wider, and taller compared to the previous one. However, the interior is even more impressive. It includes a 14.9-inch display powered by the iDrive 8, BMW’s newest operating system. The passengers in the back can watch their favorite shows on a stunning 31.3-inch 8k touch display. The display may be folded down so you can avoid staring at the screen if you choose. The inclusion of Bowers & Wilkins systems with up to 36 speakers further enhances the sound quality. The use of technology demonstrates how BMW plans to switch to producing electric automobiles in the near future. Expect the i7 to be sold at over $100,000.

Finally, at number 1 is the Tesla Cybertruck. Out of all the cars on this list, the release of the Cybertruck is the most anticipated. Tesla decided to use stainless steel for the exterior, making it very difficult to penetrate. Polymer-layered composite makes the glass so strong that cracks will be unheard of. When it comes to performance, the Cybertruck can haul up to 14,000 pounds and carry 3,500 pounds in cargo. The cyber truck has a range of 500 miles per charge and can reach 60 mph in under three seconds. A 17-inch touchscreen and ultramodern seats ensure passengers stay comfortable regardless of what the road looks like. It includes a suspension feature and a storage capacity of up to 100 cubic feet, making loading and unloading cargo convenient. The amount you have to pay for the EV depends on the variant. The model with one motor can run you up to $40,000, while the two-motor and three-motor variants will set you back roughly $50,000 and $70,000, respectively. A self-driving option is available for an additional $10,000.
